Have you provided Proof of Immunization?

All incoming freshman are required to show proof of Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunization. To learn more about this, possible exemptions,and download the proof of immunization form, please click here.

Schedule a Placement Test (if applicable)

All new and transfer students enrolled in a degree or certificate program, must take a placement test, as well as students electing to take an English, writing, or math course, and students who wish to register for a course with an English or math prerequisite. If you have already taken the ACCUPLACER test at any of the other Connecticut community colleges, the results may be used at HCC. To schedule a placement test, VISIT HERE, or call/visit the Testing Center at (203) 332-5217, Lafayette Hall Room A227.

Get Advised and Register for Classes

New and transfer students can register after meeting with an advisor, schedule a meeting by calling the Academic Advising Center at (203)-332-5097 or visiting Lafayette Hall, A108. Students interested in transferring credits to HCC should have their prior college transcript evaluated in the Admissions office before meeting with an advisor. Students who are not pursuing a degree or certificate at HCC, or plan to register for 11 credits or fewer, and/or meet all the requirements for testing and immunizations can register online or in person.

How to Register Online

Follow these easy steps:

  1. Go to
  2. Log in using your NetID (example: ) and password.
    Please note: Your initial Password will be the first three (3) letters of your birth month (1st letter capitalized) followed by the & sign , followed by the last four (4) digits of your Social Security number (example: Mar&1234).
  3. Click on the “Student” tab.
  4. Click on “Student Self-Service” channel.
  5. Click on “Registration and Payment.”
  6. Click on “Register (add/drop) Classes.”
  7. Select term, then submit (follow instructions in step 1 and 2 on that page).
  8. Click on “View Schedule” at bottom of page to confirm registration.
  9. Follow prompts to initiate payment. Payment is due at time of registration. You can use your credit card or financial aid to complete your registration.
  10. Log off.

Request "Official" College Transcript(s) From Previous College(s) 
(Transfer-students only)

Request “Official” college transcript(s) from previous college(s) be mailed directly to the Admissions Office. Official transcripts are imprinted with a raised college seal and can be mailed or hand delivered directly to the Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The Admissions Office will not accept hand delivered transcripts that have been opened as being official. Learn more about the transcript process here. 

Activate your HCC Email Account

Student email accounts are issued to all new credit students. The student email address is the only email by which the college and your instructors will communicate with you. Read the instructions by downloading the brochure here. 

Sign Up for Orientation

The first step to a successful college career is attendance and active participation in a new student orientation session. Orientation is designed to give you a jump start at knowing information about programs and services at Housatonic Community College.
