With many years of teaching experience primarily at post-secondary institutions and exposure to higher mathematics, Mr. La Barbera understands the connection between pedagogy and mathematics that promotes success in the classroom. He published and revised, in collaboration with other math faculty, a freely available student workbook called Connecticut Intermediate Algebra Student Workbook thereby increasing accessibility for students. He was certified to teach high school in New York after achieving a degree focusing on teaching methodologies, pedagogy, learning styles, and use of language in mathematics in the classroom. Throughout his teaching career, he has taught a wide-range of courses from Pre-Algebra through Calculus using traditional, hybrid, and online modalities. Academically, he is interested in Dynamical Systems and Algebra with specific applications to Algebraic Topology.
