Biography
Professor Hart holds a BA in English literature from Barnard College and an MFA in Poetry from the Writing Division of the School of the Arts at Columbia University. She has studied with poets Allen Ginsberg, Derek Walcott and Daniel Halpern, among others. She has taught literature, composition, public speaking and creative writing at Housatonic Community College since 1993, and has served as the chairperson of her department. In the summer, she typically teaches at HCC and also at Yale University, where she has taught English to international students since 1995, and for several years taught at the Yale Writers Conference.
