Professor of English, First Year Studies, Chairperson of the First Year Studies Department
A member of the HCC faculty since 1998, Professor Samberg teaches First Year Studies English courses, Freshman Seminar, and Composition. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Social Work from Shippensburg University before continuing her education with a master’s degree in Composition and Rhetoric and a literature concentration in 20th Century African-American literature from Miami University. In addition to HCC, she has taught English, First Year Experience, Business Writing, and Public Speaking courses at Montgomery College, Bergen Community College, NYIT, Baruch College, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice. When not busy teaching and working with students, Professor Samberg can be found exploring new cities, discovering great restaurants, watching Broadway shows, cooking, reading mystery novels, and spending quality time with her husband, two sons, and dog.
