CMRS (Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialists) allows the student to learn how to understand insurance company’s roles in the processing of claims, the usual & customary fees, eligibility, benefit coverage and understand the EOB (explanation of benefits) payments and denials.   This course will prepare the student to understand claims (CMS1500) forms that are used to submit charges from physicians and outpatient services, CDT dental claim forms used by dentist and oral surgeons and UB04 Hospital claims forms used by Inpatient Hospital billing. The ability to understand physician claim forms, compliance, medical coding, compliance with some HIPAA, OIG and Medicare and Medicaid issues will help the student develop a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare industry.
