Housatonic Community College Holds Career Seminar on Accounting

Those interested in a career in Accounting as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) can learn the facts and requirements at the seminar to be held at HCC on Tuesday, September 20, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Events Center in Beacon Hall.

The CPA Career Information Seminar is sponsored by HCC and the Connecticut Society of CPAs. Those attending will receive an overview of the CPA career path including Conn. certification requirements.

The panelists cover a range of experience and current positions offering those in attendance broad oversight into the various aspects of the profession.

Jill Brightman of the CTCPA organization will discuss today’s CPA profession.

Other participants on the panel include Robert Vierira, Milford resident, HCC alumnus and graduate of the University of New Haven. Vierira is now working in the tax department with the Shelton Accounting firm Dworkin Hillman LaMorte & Sterczala.

Charlie Santoro, CPA, is an alumna of HCC and the University of New Haven. She is a recipient of the HCC Distinguished Alumna Award. In private practice in Shelton, she previously worked with large accounting firms in the area.

Bihn Luu is a 2014 HCC graduate and is currently at the University of New Haven pursuing an MS in Taxation. She is on the Dean’s List.
