Housatonic Community College Students Get Free Bus Use

This fall, HCC students can get passes for unlimited use on the Greater Bridgeport Transit bus service.

To get the pass, new students must first get their HCC ID from the Student Activities office in Beacon Hall. Continuing students must have their IDs updated.

Students then take their ID to the College Bookstore in Beacon Hall and pay $20 to purchase a sticker to apply to their ID. The ID then becomes a pass, enabling the student unlimited use of the buses without charge, 7 days a week through December.

Director of Student Life, Kelly K. Hope says, “We are so pleased to offer this great advantage to our students. It enables them to move about town easily and at no cost. It helps them get to school, and jobs efficiently. Our students have been asking for bus passes and we are delighted that we have worked this out at a very minimal student cost. In the long run, HCC bus passes will save our students significant money.”
