POSITION

Part-time Educational Assistant (TUTOR/MENTOR)
Part-time, Grant-Funded Position

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE:

Summer 2015

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have at least an Associate Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 5 years working for a manufacturing company as a Machinist, Tool & Die maker with working knowledge of manual as well as CNC machinery. Teaching or training experience is also a plus.

Exceptions to the degree requirements may be made for compelling reasons.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Program Director of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, the Tutor/Mentor will provide support to the Business and industry instructor and students on the machine lab floor. The Tutor/Mentor will be responsible for all machine safety and clean upon completion of machine lab session and work closely with the tool crib attendant to help monitor the student acquisition of materials and tooling. The Tutor/Mentor will assist students with specific project work, and for grading purposes, will provide input to the B&I Instructor regarding students' overall machine lab evaluation.

SALARY

$23.75 per hour for up to 17 hours per week.
