I am pleased to welcome you to this virtual overview of Housatonic Community College. As you navigate these pages, you’ll find a wealth of information about the college, its programs, services, procedures. You’ll find a calendar of activities currently available at the college and open to the community at no charge.
As you scroll through the pages, I hope you take the time to read “Horizons,” the student newspaper. The full HCC catalog is on the site with detailed descriptions of over 60 programs, and individual courses, as well as lists of faculty and staff. HCC offers a robust campus life with over 30 clubs and organizations. A variety of non-credit courses can up-grade your skills, or enrich your life.
Your interests may be in health care, manufacturing, literature, working with very young children, or other concentrations. HCC has close relationships with the business and professional organizations in the area and knows their employment needs. HCC’s programs and courses are designed to meet those needs and to assure that students graduate with the skills and knowledge, well qualified to do the job. The HCC Manufacturing program, for instance, has achieved 96% placement for its graduates.
Most of all, I hope the virtual visit inspires you to come and see HCC in person.
I would like you to tour the buildings, enjoy the art that is everywhere on campus and that makes HCC a special place. You might also like to visit the Manufacturing Center, the art studios, the Library with over 50,000 print volumes, large collection of electronic volumes, data-bases, magazines and newspapers, and computers for students’ use.
You would want to stop into the Student Activities office in Beacon Hall and learn about the trips, and events that students enjoy outside the classroom. And you can get a real cup of coffee, sandwich, or more at one of the two cafeterias on the campus.
We think this site shows Housatonic graphically and has a great deal of information. Come see us in person. We are conveniently located off I-95 and Route 8, plus public transportation is within walking distance. Parking is available in the College garage. You will be very welcome here.
